  • Guidelines for collecting and entering required data into the state's student information system.
  • The Maine DOE requires accurate data for financial, assessment & accountability purposes.
  • This unit with focus primarily on Enrollment data (Student Personal & Student Enrollment fields).

What understandings are desired?

  • enrollment data in our local Student Information System directly impacts both State funding and local administration.
  • the importance of accuracy should lead to evaluation and possible re-design of data collection and data entry procedures.
  • the purpose and coding for much of our data collection is defined by state and federal agencies.

  • How does inaccurate data affect the school district?
  • What are my daily data collection and data entry procedures, and are they adequate?
  • Why is each piece of data collected, and why is consistent coding important?

  • recognize situations where inaccurate data is detrimental to the district (U1)
